How this estimate calculator works

WashQuote prices a job the way experienced contractors do it on paper: each surface is measured in square feet, multiplied by the rate for that service type, and adjusted for how dirty it actually is. A lightly soiled maintenance clean bills at the base rate; medium soil — the typical residential job — adds 15%; heavy algae or years of neglect adds 35%. Every line on the quote shows its surface, rate and soil level, so the customer can see the price is measured rather than invented.

Three protections are built into the totals. First, your minimum job charge: if the measured lines come to less than your minimum (most contractors use $99–$150 to cover travel, setup and chemicals), the difference is added as a clearly labeled adjustment instead of silently inflating your rates. Second, the sanity checks compare every rate you enter against the typical US range for that surface and flag outliers in orange — they catch typos like $2.50 instead of $0.25 before the customer does. Third, the totals lay out discount, sales tax, deposit and balance on completion, so everyone knows what is paid and when.

The calculator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type — not your prices, not your customers' names or addresses — is sent to a server, and the page keeps working even when job-site signal drops to one bar. When you export, your browser's own print engine produces the PDF: no account, no watermark on your prices, no subscription. If you want a copy in your inbox, an optional email field appears at export time; declining takes one click and changes nothing.

Why a written quote wins the job

Homeowners collect two or three prices for exterior cleaning. The contractor who leaves a clean, itemized PDF — business name on top, surfaces and rates in a table, total in bold, validity date at the bottom — reads as insured, established and trustworthy. The one who texts "350 for everything" reads as negotiable. Contractors consistently report closing more work at higher prices once they switch from verbal numbers to written estimates, and the document protects both sides when the job is done: no dispute about what was included, no mystery about the balance due. WashQuote exists to make that document a two-minute task you can finish from the customer's driveway.

Frequently asked questions

How do I price a pressure washing job?

Measure the surface in square feet, pick the rate for the service type (for example $0.10–$0.50 per sq ft for a house wash), adjust for soil level, then add your overhead, a profit margin of 10–20% and applicable sales tax. WashQuote does this math line by line and applies your minimum job charge automatically.

What is a typical pressure washing rate per square foot?

Typical US ranges: house washing $0.10–$0.50 per sq ft, driveways and concrete $0.20–$0.40, decks $0.25–$0.50, fences $0.30–$0.50, roof soft wash $0.20–$0.45. WashQuote pre-fills each service with a mid-range default rate you can override, and warns you when a rate falls outside the typical range.

Should I charge a minimum price for small pressure washing jobs?

Yes. Most contractors set a minimum job charge (commonly $99–$150) to cover travel, setup and chemicals on small jobs. WashQuote compares your line-item subtotal to your minimum and applies the higher amount, clearly shown on the quote.

Does WashQuote send my data or my customers' data to a server?

No. All calculations run in your browser. Customer names, addresses and prices never leave your device. The PDF export is generated locally by your browser's print engine.

Is WashQuote free for pressure washing contractors?

Yes, WashQuote is free. It is built for solo operators and small crews who need a fast, professional estimate without paying for a full field-service suite.
